There are many things to do in Louisville Ky from going to the science center to visiting the Frazier History Museum. But that’s not the case in Shelbyville Ky. We could use something to do for kids like a game store where you can go in, buy, and play board games and card games. Some of my friends to do that they’d have to drive a half an hour or more into Louisville to get to a place like that. So we should have some type of place to go and play board/card games in Shelbyville, Ky.

Dungeons and Dragons is a role-playing fantasy dice game where you have a dungeon master that gives you a scenario and you have to figure out with your group what to do. Some people will make backstories for their characters such as: “Nabalo was the son of a farmer when he was a kid. He grew up with his twin brother Nabaran. One day the twins were sent to get firewood and they came across a hut that had not been there the day before. Nabaran went in there first and when he came out his eyes were blood red and his hands were erupting with fire. Nabalo knew that the only way to stop him was to go in that hut and find some good magic to use on him. So he went in the hut and there was a black fog on one side and a white fog on the other. He assumed that the white fog would be the good so he walked into the fog and the hut was gone. It was just him with blue glowing hands he assumed was water and his brother with hands of fire. Fire balls started to hurtle at him until he hid behind a boulder. He made an attempt to concentrate his mind by using the magic coming from his hands but instead of eradicating the fire power he consumed his brother and now they were merged. Nabalo had control of his body and his own thoughts but he could hear his brothers thoughts and felt that he was a prison for his brother, he could also feel like his body didn’t have any stress as if it wasn’t aging at all. Rather than going back home he headed towards the city afraid of what his father might do now that Nabaran was trapped inside him (even though with these powers his father can’t really do much), so he went off to see if he could free his brother from this curse. He seeked out a known warlock in Darkcrest thinking they could help the curse and may be able to teach him a few things.”

Magic the Gathering is a card game played for many years worldwide. Some people may call it by the known Pokemon™ and Yu-Gi-Oh™ but it is much different. It does have similar aspects but it is much older and much more popular than these two it’s just not many people hear about it.

To play Magic the Gathering you need at least 2 people and in my opinion 4 people is best.  You also have to start with a deck of cards that are available to purchase at common big box stores everywhere plus specialty stores.  Your deck has to have 60 or more cards to begin.   First you have  land cards that when you tap or turn sideways your card to get mana to use spells.   This is where you cast creature, instants, sorceries, enchantments, and more based on their mana cost.   Next, you cast spells using your cards and mana then you may attack with your creatures and the other player may defend.   Afterwards, you can place any other spells you like or creatures and then you end your turn.

To summarize, people may have fun by playing Magic the Gathering or Dungeons and Dragons if we had a place to play it. Therefore, I suggest we should have a place for it in the near future.
