I cycled past the construction yesterday of the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass. Yes there are two “p’s” and one”e”in the name, if they really asked for help from Kentuckians it would have been spelled in Kentucky-ease, “Them Shops Over There in Simpsonville.”
While there is only one sign facing away from the interstate at this time, I’m curious on the layout and lack of signage so far.
I also noticed the number of vehicles in the construction area has dramatically increased from heavy machinery to cars and light trucks.
The fixtures are going in, colors specific to the retailer are going on the walls, it is taking shape into a awesome place for under 10 year olds to hide in the clothes racks.
While it has been a highly controversial topic it is almost here. The road construction has slowed to a maze of orange barrels on top of new asphalt and waiting for the traffic lights to turn on.
I’ll be out of the area on purpose for opening weekend, traffic will be a little too much for our small town. All 5 of our police department should be available that day…..
Edit: Just found links to Shelby County Tourism’s interview with WDRB, Katie Fussenegger is correct, it will be a traffic issue. Maybe the Truck stop and the State will properly organize the traffic flow now?
